When Peter Opsvik started to work on the Tripp Trapp®, his aim was for children of all sizes to be able to sit in a naturalway at the family table with their elbows at table height. Tripp Trapp® is fully adjustable in both height and depth, andis the first chair to grow with the child. The child can sit comfortably and the family table becomes the biggest and best tray ever put in front of a children’s chair!

As an adult we have the luxury of being able to reach the floor, making us able to move freely. For a child it is different.Tripp Trapp® created a solution to move the floor up to the child instead of moving the child to the floor. Tripp Trapp®has a stable footrest, which prevents dangling feet.

It’s all about support, balance and movement.

Made of cultivated beech, a compact wood, which keeps the product sturdy and long living. Size: H - 77.5cm, L/D - 47cm, W - 46.5cm.

It is easy to adjust the seat and footrest in both depth and height as the child grows. This supports natural posture and development.

When can a baby start sitting in a chair?
Children play best on the floor where there is room for them to develop freely and naturally. Children can start using Tripp Trapp® with Tripp Trapp® Baby Set when they are able to sit without help or support – usually around the ages of 6–9 months.

How long can the baby sit at a time?
Babies should sit no longer than 10–15 minutes at a time or as a general “rule” not be seated for longer than necessary. A high chair should not be used as a cot, a babysitter or a playpen as your baby’s spine and muscle structure is still in the early stages of development. The important thing is to support the child’s feet and back whilst seated thereby promoting good posture and sitting habits from the start.

Make sure you adjust the chair so the child sits with the elbows at table height, feet supported at the footrest and the depth of the seat leaves room between the seat and the child’s calves. The legs will then be at approx 90°.

For added safety, Stokke have developed a harness, which is constructed in a way that still offers the child full freedom to move in the chair.

It's made by Stokke especially for the Tripp Trapp High Chair. The Tripp Trapp Chair harness is clipped and unclipped from the front, making it easier to place a child in and out of the high chair. It also means the child doesn't have to lean back against a bulky clip.
